2019 TARINA Annual Report Released

Technical Assistance and Research for Indian Nutrition and Agriculture (TARINA) has published its 2019 Annual Report. The report provides updates on TARINA’s activities in support of more diverse food systems in India.

Led by the Tata-Cornell Institute for Agriculture and Nutrition (TCI), TARINA is a consortium that connects policy-focused research partners with community-level, impact-focused implementation partners to address the complex problem of malnutrition in India. The report details the consortium’s efforts to implement interventions that make Indian food systems more nutrition-sensitive; inform policies through the generation of evidence for better availability and accessibility of diverse foods; and build leadership and capacity to support nutrition-sensitive agriculture.

“I am excited by the thought that TARINA, with the evidence of its positive impacts on the ground and experienced technical expertise, will make high-value contributions in India’s fight against malnutrition,” TCI Director and TARINA Steering Committee Chair Prabhu Pingali writes in a message from the report.
