Apurva Borar

Apurva Borar is a PhD candidate in the field of applied economics and management. Her research interests lie at the intersection of development economics and gender studies. She is also interested in politics, governance, culture, and identity studies. Prior to joining Cornell, she worked as an assistant professor of economics at Miranda House at the University of Delhi. As part of her MPhil dissertation, she analyzed the relationship between women’s autonomy and their participation in paid work. Apurva graduated with a master’s degree from the Centre of Economic Studies and Planning at Jawaharlal Nehru University. She received her undergraduate degree from Shri Ram College of Commerce at the University of Delhi.
