TCI-TARINA and IFPRI co-host special session at the AERA 24th Annual Conference
TCI-TARINA and IFPRI jointly organized a special session on “Engendering food systems for improved nutrition” at the 24th Annual Conference of the Agricultural Economics Research Association (AERA). The special session was held on December 16, 2016 at the Indian Veterinary Research Institute (Izatnagar, Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh). Panel speakers included Dr. Prabhu Pingali, Professor of Applied Economics at Cornell University & Director of the Tata-Cornell Institute (TCI); Dr. Surabhi Mittal, TCI Senior Economist and Coordinator of the TARINA Center of Excellence; Dr. Padmaja Ravula, Senior Scientist – Gender at ICRISAT; Mamata Pradhan, Doctoral Candidate at the School of International Development, University of East Anglia, UK and former IFPRI Researcher; Dr. Premlata Singh, Principal Scientist, School Coordinator (Social Sciences) and Head, Division of Agricultural Extension at ICAR – Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI); and Dr. Dimple Abraham, Centre for Women’s Development Studies.
