Payal Seth
Payal Seth was a research consultant with TCI in India working on survey implementation, data management, and empirical research using experimental, quasi-experimental, and panel data methods. As a TCI scholar, she spent 18 months in the field leading the construction of 545 toilets in 15 rural villages in India, with the aim of combating open defecation through behavior change communication and assessing the impact of reduced open defecation on child health, sanitation practices, and women’s safety. Prior to joining Cornell, Payal received a master’s degree in economics from the Delhi School of Economics at Delhi University and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Indraprastha College For Women at Delhi University.
