Anna David Thottappilly is a PhD student in the field of applied economics and management. Her primary research interest lies in issues related to development and social mobility. She is interested in policy-oriented research that could help bridge the inequality gap. Prior to Cornell, Anna worked as an assistant professor at Jesus and Mary College at the University of Delhi. Anna received her bachelor’s in economics from St. Stephen’s College at the University of Delhi. She graduated with the third rank for the economics master’s program from Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi. As part of her M.Phil dissertation, she analyzed how intellectual property rights in Indian agricultural markets could affect farmers as the institutional setup in India was trying to adhere to WTO requirements.
