Dr. Prabhu Pingali
Dr. Prabhu Pingali is the founding director of TCI and a professor in the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management, with an appointment in the Department of Global Development in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Cornell University. Before moving to Ithaca in June 2013, he was the deputy director of the Agriculture Development Division of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation from 2008-May 2013. Dr. Pingali was the president of the International Association of Agricultural Economists from 2003-2006. He was elected to the U.S. National Academy of Sciences as a Foreign Fellow in May 2007. He was elected Fellow of the American Agricultural Economics Association in 2006 and of the International Association of Agricultural Economists in 2009.
