The Tata-Cornell Institute for Agriculture and Nutrition (TCI) is organizing a special conference on “Food, Environment, and Health—Global Evidence” at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, on May 10-12, 2023. The two-day conference is part of TCI’s yearlong 10th-anniversary celebration.

The conference is aimed at bringing together scholars working at the broader intersection of food, the environment, and health to further our understanding of food system challenges around the world. Changing demand for food—influenced by and influencing the environment and ecosystem—with its nutritional and health implications, is increasingly becoming the most important challenge facing global food systems. There is a greater need for more robust evidence on these complex interlinkages.

As part of the conference, TCI is extending a call for research papers on the interrelated issues of food security, nutrition, the environment, and health. Interested applicants should submit extended abstracts of 2,000 words or less to tci-conference@cornell.edu. Submitted abstracts should clearly delineate the research question, data, and methods. The deadline for submissions is December 7, 2022.

The conference will complete the commemoration of TCI’s 10th anniversary, which began with a special kickoff event earlier this academic year and continues throughout the year with a monthly distinguished lecture series. The conference will close with a final celebration on May 12, 2023. Further details will be announced at a later date.
