Anil Netravali is the Jean and Douglas McLean Professor of Fiber Science in the Cornell University College of Human Ecology’s Department of Fiber Science & Apparel Design. His current research is in the areas of fiber-reinforced composites and green materials and processes. Netravali runs TCI-sponsored Farm Waste to Furniture project, which aims to curb the harmful practice of rice straw burning in India by developing a process that incorporates straw into the production of environmentally friendly composite panels that can replace commonly used wood-based products like particleboard and plywood.
